About the Position:

We are a growing Brooklyn-based manufacturing company with approximately 10 employees and forecasted $3 million in sales for 2026. We are looking for a hands-on, highly organized Operations Manager to take responsibility for customer orders, manufacturing coordination, inventory, forecasting, and order fulfillment.

This is an important position in a small company. The right person will be someone who enjoys being involved in the details, can work independently, solves problems rather than passing them along, and is comfortable wearing several hats.

Strong experience with Fishbowl Inventory/Manufacturing or QuickBooks Enterprise Manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Manufacturing & Production:

Coordinate with production to ensure daily production and assembly activities are fulfilled.
Create and maintain production schedules based on customer orders and inventory requirements.
Monitor production progress and identify potential delays.
Work directly with production team to resolve bottlenecks.
Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), work orders and production records in Fishbowl.
Monitor product quality and identify recurring production issues.

Inventory Management:

Take primary responsibility for accurate inventory records in Fishbowl.
Train and supervise Supply Chain Analyst in counting and reconciling inventory.
Track raw materials, components, work-in-process and finished goods.
Coordinate and supervise regular physical inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
Establish and monitor appropriate reorder levels.
Work with production team to maintain an organized and efficient inventory/warehouse environment.
Ensure inventory transactions are entered accurately and promptly.

Purchasing"

Train and supervise Supply Chain Analyst in preparing and managing purchase orders, handling forecasting, building and adjusting. inventory in Fishbowl.
Monitor inventory requirements and determine when materials need to be ordered.

Order Fulfillment & Shipping:

Coordinate processing of customer orders from receipt through production and shipment.
Ensure orders are complete and accurate before shipping.
Monitor picking, packing and shipping activities.

Fishbowl & QuickBooks:

Serve as the company's primary internal user and resource for Fishbowl.
Maintain accurate parts, BOMs, work orders, purchase orders and inventory records.
Generate reports to monitor inventory, purchasing and production.
Work with management and accounting to ensure Fishbowl and QuickBooks records remain properly coordinated.
Assist with inventory-related accounting and reconciliation issues.

Process Improvement:

Responsibility for company’s ISO9001 documentation and internal audits.
Coordinate with senior management and lead annual ISO audits.
Look for practical ways to make the company more efficient.
Develop and document operating procedures.
Identify bottlenecks and recurring problems.
Reduce errors in inventory, purchasing, production and shipping.
Help management establish meaningful operational metrics.
Take ownership of problems and follow them through to resolution.

What We're Looking For:

Required:

3+ years of management experience in manufacturing, order fulfillment, inventory, supply chain.
Strong computer and organizational skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a small-business environment.
Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills.
Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
Excellent communication skills.

Strongly Preferred:

Hands-on Fishbowl experience.
Manufacturing operations experience.
Inventory control experience.
Order fulfillment experience
QuickBooks experience.
Experience with electronic, mechanical or electromechanical products.

The Person We're Looking For:

This position is ideal for someone who owns the operation rather than simply managing it. You should be comfortable:

Working on the floor with production employees.
Sitting at a computer working in Fishbowl.
Counting inventory when necessary.
Solving a production problem.
Coordinating a shipment.
Building a better process when the existing one isn't working.

We're a small company, so there are no rigid departmental boundaries. We need someone who is willing to pitch in, learn the business and take responsibility for making sure things get done.

Salary: Approximately $65,000 - $75,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
